i only realised when
the heating came on and i wondered why it was an hour late
teehee
thats excellent.
i try linux once every 12-18 months and every time.. something is just not right. it started yonks ago with graphics card drivers and is now much better but now down to using joysticks in MAME
I've never had any success with MAME
which I really should have a got at again so I can build a cabinet for upstairs in the workshop.
As for wireless drivers in ubuntu, isn't there NDIS Wrapper ?
As I said down there *points* Linux Mint works spiffingly
i'm sure wireless in general works fine in ubuntu
for my particular card the drivers are both broken and compiled in to the kernel. the only way to swap them out is to recompile
it is an intel 2200bg
so i guess it is my fault for not going with a more mainstream manufacturer
If it's a mini PCI one
and not a mini PCI E one I can post you a Broadcom one that'll work
thanks for the offer
it is built in so i don't know if i can swap it. i've gone back to the dark side now anyway
All you do is unscrew
a cover on the bottom amd 9 times out of 10 there's the wireless card and memory laying there naked for you
nup
just battery, hdd and memory
FFS
geekery at this hour on a weekend?!intrrobang
i have the mother of all MIGRAINES* and some fucking cunt is drilling holes in the road
*proper.. with flashing lights sweats and falling over
remedy that spoonman!
chew on a fistful of mephedrone
while injecting vodka in to your crotch
i expect you to deliver it
within the hour.. or i will probably die
Have you died yet ?
*wishful thinking*
just had a snooze and woke up by the bitch spanish
complaining her boyfriend fucks his sec
in spanish.. even in my pain i could work that one out
migraine. Guarenteed relief.
2 to 4 shots of spirits. 2 shots of espresso. A very strong spliff.
Consume all of them as quickly as is possible. Sort you right out. I can even work with a migraine as long as Ie done the above, and its got sound scientific backing behind it.
tried the shots thing
but i don't do spliff.. it didn't work
I've got Mint on one of my machines
seems fine
Mint is good.
ive got a cab
joysticks, buttons, the required harness, pc interface boards, everything. just never git round to re-tarting it all up. i need moar space really
The plan for the workshop loft is
HTPC, projector, MAME cab, sofa beds and optics
Ubuntu 9.10
seems to have been a big step forward in hardware compatibility
I'm one SD card slot short of out-of-the-box perfection
Give Mint a try
it's the only distro I've used where every thing seems to work, plus they have their own software portal for installing stuffs that makes it almost as easy as windows
