If you knew not to kill kids I've done plenty of things over the last ten yearsthat I knew were wrong without realising that I'd carry the consequences with me for the rest of my life. None of them were anywhere near murder, but if I fail to see the consequence at 27 I'm pretty sure a ten year old could do something heinous without any realisation of long term consequences, or without the possibility of realisation of lifetime consequences of actions.
